Helios Homes is a next-generation architectural prototyping studio. With uncompromising dedication to net-zero-emissions capability, Helios Homes is integrating cutting edge green building technologies into boldly innovative, pre-engineered homes. Founded by architect and planner Burt Wadman, Helios Homes initial offering, the Helios I, is scheduled to begin construction in Spring 2010 in southern Colorado. This website will chronicle the construction of the Helios I and the evolution of Helios Homes’ ongoing investigation of affordable, manufacturable homes. Through our efforts we hope to contribute to architecture's role in shaping the future of our culture and simultaneously, the mitigation of consequences arising from human induced climate change. |
